DayArc Privacy
DayArc — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-09
DayArc is an offline-first habit tracker: your habits stay on your device. The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which involves a device advertising identifier; the one-time premium upgrade removes ads. This page explains exactly what is and isn't collected.
What DayArc collects
Nothing about you, directly. DayArc has no account, no sign-up, no analytics, and no servers of its own. Your habits, check-ins, and settings are stored only on your device, in the app's local database, and are never uploaded or sold.
Ads (free version)
The free version displays banner ads using Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK and Google may collect and use a device advertising identifier and certain device and usage information, as described in Google's policies. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your region and your choice.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you are shown a consent choice (Google's User Messaging Platform) before ads are loaded.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your device Settings → Privacy / Ads.
- Premium removes ads — for premium users no ads are requested.
- How Google uses data for ads: policies.google.com/technologies/ads and the Google Privacy Policy.
Where your data lives
- All habits, check-ins, and settings are stored only on your device.
- DayArc has no servers and never uploads your habits or check-ins.
- Uninstalling the app removes this data. The optional export (a premium feature) writes a
single encrypted backup file (
.dayarc) to a location you choose; DayArc never uploads it anywhere.
Permissions
- Notifications — to remind you at the start of each time block.
- Run after restart — to re-schedule those reminders after your phone reboots.
- Internet — used by Google Play Billing for the one-time purchase, and by Google AdMob to load ads in the free version.
- Advertising ID — used by the ads SDK to serve ads in the free version.
Purchases
A one-time in-app purchase unlocks premium features and removes ads. The purchase is processed entirely by Google Play under Google's own privacy policy; DayArc does not receive or store your payment details. DayArc only learns whether the premium product is owned (a yes/no entitlement), which it stores on your device.
Children
DayArc is not directed at children, and DayArc itself collects no personal data from anyone. Because the free version shows ads, it is intended for a general (non-child) audience.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
